The Operating System

Fedora Core 5, released on the 20th March, 2006, was the fifth iteration of the Fedora project, itself a community run fork of the commercial Red Hat Linux (later Red Hat Enterprise Linux) platform. Codenamed ‘Bordeaux’, Fedora Core 5 contained the 2.6.15 release of the Linux kernel, GNOME 2.14, and an assortment of other recently updated software. Fedora Core 5 was available for x86, x86-64 and PowerPC.

Fedora Core 5 reached End of Life on the 2nd July, 2007.
