The Operating System

Windows 98 Second Edition (SE) is an operating system released by Microsoft in 1999 as an update to the original Windows 98. It aimed to address several issues and provide enhancements to the user experience. Windows 98 SE included improvements such as better support for USB devices, improved stability and performance, updated drivers, and additional features for internet connectivity. Despite being considered a significant improvement over its predecessor, Windows 98 SE was ultimately superseded by newer versions of the Windows operating system, and support for it was discontinued in 2006.

The Web Browser

NeoPlanet 5.0 was a web browser developed by NeoPlanet Inc., released in 1999. Serving as an updated iteration of the NeoPlanet browser, it incorporated features aimed at enhancing the browsing experience for users. Notably, NeoPlanet 5.0 utilized the Internet Explorer rendering engine, ensuring compatibility with websites designed for Microsoft’s browser. Additionally, the browser boasted a customizable user interface, support for tabbed browsing, and integration with various internet services.
