The Operating System
OS X 10.2, codenamed “Jaguar,” is an operating system developed by Apple Inc. and released in August 2002. As a successor to OS X 10.1 “Puma,” Jaguar introduced several key enhancements and features. These included improved system performance, better compatibility with third-party software, and enhanced support for networking and peripheral devices. Jaguar also introduced the “Quartz Extreme” graphics engine, which leveraged the power of the computer’s graphics hardware to accelerate the rendering of user interface elements. Additionally, OS X 10.2 included the “Address Book” application for managing contacts and the “Jaguar Voice Recognition” feature for controlling the computer using spoken commands.
The Web Browser
OmniWeb 4.5 was a web browser developed by The Omni Group, released in 2003. It served as an updated version of the OmniWeb browser, offering enhanced features and improved performance for users. OmniWeb 4.5 provided a range of functionalities including tabbed browsing, advanced bookmark management, and support for web standards such as HTML and CSS.
