Terry Pratchett (1948-2015) was a British author primarily known for his humorous and satirical fantasy novels. Born in Beaconsfield, England, Pratchett began his writing career in the early 1970s as a journalist and press officer. He gained widespread recognition with his “Discworld” series, a satirical fantasy world that parodied various aspects of contemporary society and culture. Pratchett’s writing style was characterized by witty dialogue, intricate plots, and insightful social commentary. Throughout his career, he authored over 70 books, including novels, short stories, and non-fiction works. Pratchett’s literary contributions earned him numerous awards and accolades, including the Carnegie Medal and the World Fantasy Award. He was also appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to literature.
